In 2023 I spotted a call for papers, jointly issued by Valiz, an Amsterdam-based publisher that I’ve been following for years, and RMIT in Melbourne. The call was for abstracts for contributions to an anthology about practice-based PhDs across a range of fields. For the full brief, see the images below and the website here.
Having had time to reflect on my own experience and been able to consolidate and expand my thinking beyond the academic framework, it was a great opportunity to reflect on the impact doing a PhD late in my career has had on how I situate myself in the curatorial field and therefore also how I talk about my practice when teaching.
Am not going to give away further details yet, but will do another post with a link once the book is in print, which should hopefully before too long.
