PARSE tenth-anniversary conference

Having worked on copy-editing texts for PARSE Journal since issue # 3, which came out in 2016, it was great to be invited to attend and contribute to the recent tenth-anniversary conference in Gothenburg. Sharing a panel with Dave Beech, one of the journal’s early editors I worked with, and Florian Schneider of the Society for Artistic Research, we reflected on the merits, achievements and potentialities of a (now fully) online journal, which was interesting and also fun. It was also a great opportunity to finally (re-)meet so many people I’d mainly communicated with via email over the years, not least Mick Wilson, who was instrumental to the PARSE research platform being developed, and to have a chat with former editors and contributors based in the UK, such as Andrea Phillips. I also had some interesting conversations with Nick Aikens, who had recently taken on the role of managing editor and research responsible for L’Internationale online. A dense two days, with lots of food for thought.
